August Update

Hello everyone!

July was a crazy month. Travel, preparing for school, podcast, and many more things have been occupying my time.

Oh, and I got engaged! Very exciting, and lots of things to do to prepare for the wedding. I'll be marrying my best friend and the love of my life, who without I wouldn't have even finished Lady Knight. She's also been a driving force behind my work on Knight Captain, which I'm still working on. So thank you for that, Alexandra.

Other than that, things are steady as she goes. I'm going to resume working on Knight Captain soon, and life carries on. I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know where I'm at. Right now I'm looking at a early 2018 release for Knight Captain, pending a cover and revisions.

Next year I'll probably start working on one of my other projects, but I haven't decided which yet. Good thing there's still plenty of time for that.

Thanks for reading!

June Update

How is it already June?!

May has absolutely flown by and it's been a crazy month. I've been almost entirely focused on Lady Knight's book tour this past month if you haven't been following my Facebook page, which, if you aren't, you totally should: https://www.facebook.com/Tnmosleybooks/

The revisions for Lady Knight have been going exceptionally well, and I'm hoping to have those done as soon as possible. My editor has been pointing out things that I never would've thought of, so a huge shoutout to him. Thanks, Terry!

On the actual writing front... Well, that's not going so swell. All of my projects are basically on hold currently, which I'm not terribly happy with. A lot of things have been happening in the past few weeks that have forced me to stop writing for the moment. I hope to start writing again very soon, but I don't know when that will be. As a result, I've had to push back the completion date for Knight Captain's first draft …

Weekly Update - April 23rd

Okay, so things have been absolutely crazy the last couple of weeks. I have so much to share with everyone and I'm so excited to do so, so let's jump right in.

First things first: Lady Knight.

On May 15th, Lady Knight will be starting its first book tour with Bewitching Book Tours! The tour is going to last for one month and will be making the rounds among bloggers and social media alike. This is going to be huge for Lady Knight, and as such, we can expect some big changes.

First of all, I have the final draft of the new cover!

Ruben has done an absolutely astounding job, and I couldn't be happier with the new cover. As always, you should check out his work here: http://www.rgramos.com/ The paperback will have the full cover, including the back which I'm not quite ready to share yet.

This cover is going to go live ASAP, so... in the next day or so!

Additionally, I've enlisted the help of someone I trust to do revisions for Lady Knight, so alongside the new cover, t…

Weekly Update - April 7th

Some days, inspiration is like a lightning bolt. It hits you out of nowhere, and there's little you can do to stop it if it's determined to strike you. That's what happened with this blurb:

People don't die anymore. It's rude, you know. Think about it. You die, your loved ones mourn, have to pay for funeral costs, then there's the matter of all your stuff. Your children miss you. Your job has to replace you.

So Dr. Takamori made his nanobots. Get injected once, and boom, you're immortal. Cancer? Gone. Internal bleeding? Fixed. Brain degeneration? History.

Sounds great, but what about the people that want to die? They have enough money to handle everything, they've done it all, and they're done. Life has nothing left for them.

That's where I come in. My name is Hannah, and I kill people. They pay me, then tell me how they want to die. I take care of the rest. Most of the time it's exciting. They don't want to know it's coming, don't …

Weekly Update - March 31st

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately I mostly have bad news this week, but as with all bad news, there's also some good. The new cover and revisions for Lady Knight have been delayed until April, through no fault but my own. As such, the giveaway for Lady Knight will be delayed as well. Perhaps until May.

In Knight Captain news, things are going mostly smoothly. Life likes to throw curveballs, so I'm having to work through those right now. Knight Captain's first draft should still be complete in June, so there's that at least.

I've begun to look into the possibility of getting an audiobook of Lady Knight created, but I don't have any details on that currently. It is exciting to be looking into the possibility though - I've always been a fan of audiobooks and listen to several every month, so having Lady Knight in audiobook form would be fantastic.

Additionally, I am looking for alpha readers for Knight Captain. While certainly the book isn't finished yet, I do…

Weekly Update - March 24th

Hello everyone!

Some good news and some bad news this week.

First, the bad news: The giveaway for Lady Knight is going to have to be delayed. While Ruben has done a fantastic job keeping to our schedule of having the new cover complete by the end of March, I haven't done such a good job of revising Lady Knight. I'll have a revised date for the Lady Knight giveaway soon.

The good news is that work on Knight Captain is progressing steadily, and as of today the book is almost 40% complete! We have over 100 pages of Knight Captain goodness, and by the end I expect to have well over 300 pages. For comparison, Lady Knight was about 240 pages, so Knight Captain will be about 40% longer than Lady Knight. Daunting, but exciting!

Weekly Update - March 17th

Hello everyone!

Behold!

While not the finished product, this is the first draft of the color version of the new cover of Lady Knight. Obviously there are still some rough spots in the illustration, but overall I believe Ruben has done an absolutely amazing job so far bringing my characters to life. I am constantly blown away by his skill, and you should definitely check out his other work at his website: http://www.rgramos.com/
I'll have the final version of the new front cover soon, and I hope to be able to share with everyone the back cover soon as well. Right now we've been focused on getting the front perfect. As soon as I have the final version of the front cover, I'll make sure to post that.
In Knight Captain news, the book is one-third complete! This is an exciting milestone, as the storylines are in full swing now. In fact, I'm about to go write the first chapter of where things start to get really exciting!

Weekly Update - March 10th

Hello everyone!

Steady as she goes this week. Knight Captain is progressing steadily, and is, at the time of this post, about 25% done. One fourth of the way already! That's pretty awesome. I'll admit I'm not progressing quite as quickly as I'd hoped, but I'm still on track for having the first draft completed in June. Emil and company are proving to be a bit more difficult than I'd expected. But, my pre-alpha reader Alexandra has been giving constant feedback and her encouragement is, well, encouraging.

We're very quickly approaching the completion date for the new cover of Lady Knight - it's hard to believe that March is already a third of the way gone. I was hoping to have something to show by now, but it's okay. A good cover takes time to perfect, and I'd rather not rush showing everyone an incomplete product. All I'll say for now is that Ruben is doing a fantastic job.

The Lady Knight giveaway is still on track for April 7th thru 10th. …

Weekly Update - March 3rd

Hello everyone!

I've decided to start naming these the "Weekly Update", since I'm able to post them pretty consistently once a week. You can look forward to a Weekly Update every Friday from now on.

Unfortunately for the inaugural Weekly Update, I don't have a lot to talk about. Work on Knight Captain is progressing steadily, and as of this post it's approximately 22% complete. We're still on track for a June completion for the first draft and September release.

Lady Knight's new cover gets better and better with every iteration. I'm not quite ready to share any sketches yet (plus I still need to check with Ruben about actually sharing them), but I should have something to show in the next week. That will likely earn its own post.

I've decided on a date for the Lady Knight Giveaway, as well. It will start on April 7th and end on April 10th, and to re-iterate, I'll be giving away three signed copies of Lady Knight with all the revisions I h…

Lady Knight Cover and Giveaway!

Hello everyone!

Short post today, just because I'm excited to get back to work on Knight Captain and don't have a lot to talk about.

Yesterday I received the first sketches of the new cover for Lady Knight, and oh. My. God. I am so excited! Ruben is absolutely killing it, and I cannot wait to show everyone the finished cover. The hype is real, and the end of March can't get here fast enough.

To celebrate the new cover, I've decided that I'm going to be giving away three signed copies of Lady Knight with the new cover in April. The actual date is still to-be-determined, but I'll make sure to post here and on Facebook when that starts.

Revisions for the new-cover version of Lady Knight are well underway as well, so not only will it have a new cover, but also many little fixes and revisions I've found necessary.

Thanks for reading!

Knight Captain, New Cover for Lady Knight, and More!

Hello everyone!

Work on Knight Captain, book two of The Knight Case, is well underway! The book is about 15% done so far, and this post will be showing up before days 6 and 7 of working on it. I've also got a blurb about the book. It's subject to revision in the future, but for now I'm excited to share at least this much with everyone:
The events that transpired on Earth have passed, and a relative return to peace has come over Draeca. Friends have been put to rest, romances have blossomed, and the traitor magician Mathias has been brought into custody. Lady Athana Marjoya is continuing the work started by the treacherous magician turned hero Marek to discover a safer way to create new magicians. The Knight Sanet is healed from his wounds sustained during the invasion of Earth, and the Knight Albidor is happy to be gone from the place. Trade is prospering, the people are happy, and things couldn’t seem to be going better. But Knight Captain Emil Rouland is not having a goo…

Lady Knight

For the first post of this blog, I feel that I should probably go ahead and include a link to my first novel, Lady Knight. Below is a short blurb about the book.
Detective Cameron Knight does not believe in magic. It's kind of hard to when you're a single(-ish) mother in a high stress job that pulls you from bed at all hours of the night. One of these nights, though, Cameron encounters a magician. Not one of those guys who pulls rabbits out of hats, but a real, true magician. Of course she doesn't believe it. Until Mathias reveals to her a world that is full of magic, Knights, kings, and more.

Following the writings of one of the most powerful magicians to have ever lived, Mathias escaped to Earth, running from Knight Captain Emil Rouland. Emil has been tasked with bringing Mathias before the King of Draeca to face the King's justice. But Marek, a magician and enemy of Mathias, has other ideas. He sees this as his big break to finally exact his revenge on Mathias and be…
