Weekly Update - April 7th

Some days, inspiration is like a lightning bolt. It hits you out of nowhere, and there's little you can do to stop it if it's determined to strike you. That's what happened with this blurb:

People don't die anymore. It's rude, you know. Think about it. You die, your loved ones mourn, have to pay for funeral costs, then there's the matter of all your stuff. Your children miss you. Your job has to replace you.

So Dr. Takamori made his nanobots. Get injected once, and boom, you're immortal. Cancer? Gone. Internal bleeding? Fixed. Brain degeneration? History.

Sounds great, but what about the people that want to die? They have enough money to handle everything, they've done it all, and they're done. Life has nothing left for them.

That's where I come in. My name is Hannah, and I kill people. They pay me, then tell me how they want to die. I take care of the rest. Most of the time it's exciting. They don't want to know it's coming, don't want to know how it'll happen. "Surprise me," most say.

I'm not the only one who does this sort of thing, so of course I'd be pissed when someone posts a contract for my death. And I don't want to die.

Clearly this idea is barely formed, it's the absolute bare bones of a story that has potential. I like sharing these types of things with people though, so there it is. I don't think I'll do anything with it yet - Knight Captain is more important right now - but I do think it has potential as a good standalone.

Otherwise, things are steady as she goes. This weekend is a heavy catch-up weekend for me, I've fallen a bit behind on Knight Captain and I need to continue re-editing Lady Knight.

As far as Lady Knight goes, I'm eagerly awaiting the final version of the new cover. Once that's done, it'll be all systems at full to get the new cover and edits uploaded so I can do the giveaway I've been talking about.

In the meantime, I'd love to hear some feedback about the blurb from above. Any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks for reading!

Nathan

August Update

Hello everyone!

July was a crazy month. Travel, preparing for school, podcast, and many more things have been occupying my time.

Oh, and I got engaged! Very exciting, and lots of things to do to prepare for the wedding. I'll be marrying my best friend and the love of my life, who without I wouldn't have even finished Lady Knight. She's also been a driving force behind my work on Knight Captain, which I'm still working on. So thank you for that, Alexandra.

Other than that, things are steady as she goes. I'm going to resume working on Knight Captain soon, and life carries on. I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know where I'm at. Right now I'm looking at a early 2018 release for Knight Captain, pending a cover and revisions.

Next year I'll probably start working on one of my other projects, but I haven't decided which yet. Good thing there's still plenty of time for that.

Thanks for reading!

June Update

How is it already June?!

May has absolutely flown by and it's been a crazy month. I've been almost entirely focused on Lady Knight's book tour this past month if you haven't been following my Facebook page, which, if you aren't, you totally should: https://www.facebook.com/Tnmosleybooks/

The revisions for Lady Knight have been going exceptionally well, and I'm hoping to have those done as soon as possible. My editor has been pointing out things that I never would've thought of, so a huge shoutout to him. Thanks, Terry!

On the actual writing front... Well, that's not going so swell. All of my projects are basically on hold currently, which I'm not terribly happy with. A lot of things have been happening in the past few weeks that have forced me to stop writing for the moment. I hope to start writing again very soon, but I don't know when that will be. As a result, I've had to push back the completion date for Knight Captain's first draft …

October Update

Hello everyone!

Work on Knight Captain is progressing steadily, but I've had to significantly revise my timeline for completing the first draft of the novel, and now expect to have it complete by the end of the year. We're looking at a February or March release for the book now. It's turning out to be much longer than Lady Knight was, so you can expect about 50% more novel this time around.

In other news, production of Lady Knight's audiobook is starting this month! The audiobook will be narrated by the wonderful Mary Ann Weathers, and I can't wait to share it with you all. I'd encourage you all to check her out on Facebook and Audible, she's done some great work including The Dragon and The Scholar series and the Dawson Chronicles series. Her work on The Dragon and The Scholar series in particular has earned several five star reviews, so I'm honored to be working with her for The Knight Case.

You can find her Facebook here: Click Me! And her Audible wo…
